Ultrafiltration is a hollow fiber filtration technology, with three stage pretreatment filtration to remove impurities in tap water; Ultrafiltration micropores less than 0.01 micron, can thoroughly filter bacteria, rust, colloid and other harmful substances in the water, retain the original trace elements and minerals in the water. Suspended solids and high molecular weight solutes are retained in so-called residues, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane as permeates. This separation method is used in industry and research to purify and concentrate macromolecule (103-106 Da) solutions, especially protein solutions.

How does an ultrafiltration membrane works?

Ultrafiltration membrane is an asymmetric semi-permeable membrane made of macromolecular material. As a means of separation without phase change in solution, it can remove particles with a molecular weight in the range of 1500-100000 Daltons, and can effectively remove organic matter, bacteria, Viruses, colloids and non-ionic suspended solids.
