What is EDI?

EDI ( Electro deionisation), is a process whereby anions and cations in the feed water are adsorbed by mixed ion exchange resins, and these adsorbed ions are removed by passing through the anion and cation exchange membranes respectively under the action of direct current pressure.

The Features of EDI Water Treatment Plant

Combining the traditional electrodialysis technology ED and ion exchange technology IE is a process that continuously removes ions from raw water without the use of acids and bases, using a DC power supply, to continuously produce high quality pure water.

The Working principle of EDI Water Treatment Plant

The EDI membrane block contains a number of EDI cells separated by a grid to form a concentrated water chamber and a fresh water chamber. Anion/cation electrodes are also provided at both ends of the cells.The anions and cations in the water stream passing through the fresh water chamber are removed in the fresh water chamber by means of a direct current and migrate through the anion and cation exchange membrane to the concentrated water chamber.(As shown in the picture)
